CONGRATULATIONS TO OUR LATEST DUT JACOB FOSTER TO COMMIT TO USA COLLEGE!!!

Please join us in congratulating Jacob Foster from Woonona, New South Wales who is our latest DownUnder Traveller athlete to verbally commit to playing college baseball in America.

Jacob has chosen to further his Academic and Athletic careers at Howard College saying that he chose Howard College because, “Coach Carlson and Coach Lien provide a family orientated environment, so it was hard for me not to commit. Overall, Howard offers specialised programs to strengthen and improve player performance on and off the field long term.”

Throughout the recruitment process Jacob showed a keen interest in the history of the college and said that he is excited for his future at the college because, “It is great to follow in the steps of Ben Moore, who is a Howard Alumni. Howard College has an extremely rich history of success and moving players into competitive 4-year schools, as well as having the best ever junior college season record including winning the World Series, with a 57-game winning streak and an overall record of 63-1 including winning the championship.”

Having played baseball for the past 6 years, Jacob said that he loves the sport because, “It is a team sport that relies on a mixture of different skills that everyone contributes to, it is a fast-paced game, and it builds long term friendships. If you are wanting to continue your baseball career overseas, continue to work hard on improving your skillset and always have a positive outlook, even in the difficult moments.”

The DownUnder Travellers identified Jacob as a talented player with bright future ahead of him and recently provided him with an opportunity to play for the Phillies Scout Team where he demonstrated his impressive on-field skills. We are excited to see where his career with Howard College takes him!
