CONGRATULATIONS TO OUR LATEST DUT TYRONE BOALER TO COMMIT TO USA COLLEGE!!!

Please join us in congratulating Tyrone Boaler from Auckland, New Zealand who is our latest DownUnder Traveller athlete to verbally commit to playing college baseball in America.

Tyrone started playing softball when he was 4 years old and then went on to play baseball from the age of 14. He said, “Baseball means everything to me. I play this game because I love the lessons you learn, the friendships and memories you make and most of all the joy it brings me. I could have the worst day in the world, but as soon as I’m on the diamond everything goes away.”

Tyrone is excited to experience what the baseball college life has to offer and said that he chose to commit to El Paso Community College because ”The program that Coach Julien runs focuses on developing players and giving them the opportunity to become better everyday. Coach Julien said to me that he is big on being a team player and making sure that you have a good and respectful attitude whether you are on the diamond or not. He also said he will hold you accountable to that, which is what I love.”

Tyrone contacted the DownUnder Travellers to discuss college prospects. He was then marketed to and approached by the DownUnder Travellers extensive network of highly sought after college connections. Tyrone said of the DownUnder Travellers and the recruitment process, “The DownUnder Travellers did an amazing job at providing opportunities, whether that be in a normal game or a showcase. They do an amazing job on and off the field to make sure your name is getting out there. I would definitely recommend working with the DownUnder Travellers if you are looking to go to college.”

When asked what advice he would give to players who want to pursue a future pathway in baseball Tyrone said, “Never give up, no matter what anyone tells you. One of my coaches once told me that you have to trust the process. Trust that results will come with the hard work you do and all the hours you put in. Set yourself smart and achievable goals that will help you to get to your big goal in the end.”
